Pushing Back, Moving Forward

So--we've hit a few production snags, namely due to the economy, but we're cool.

We're moving forward with the production of "A Reasonable Doubt," aiming for a mid-September shoot.

In the meantime, we'll continue to thoroughly develop our production strategy.

In spite of our having postponed principal photography, we've succeeded at raising a significant percentage of our budget over Spring Break and look to continue on, expecting to have the majority of our budget raised by July.

Our estimated production timeline suggests that we'll complete the film by March 2010.

If you happen to be reading this and know anyone looking for any worthy causes for tax-deductible donations, feel free to inquire about how to donate, or donate directly through the blog. You'll get a credit in the film, as well as a free copy of the finished piece.

Also, if anyone knows anyone that has access to a Black Ford Crown Victoria, it would also be a big help.

Stay tuned to the blog for more info on our progress in weeks to come.

To anybody who's checking us out--thanks for your support. It really helps.

A Fruitful Location Scout

This weekend members of our production team traveled to the film's location to check out we would approach most of the film's main action--the encounter between the police officers and the subject in question.

February 22-28

This past weekend, casting began on "A Reasonable Doubt." Director Tahir Jetter, along with co-producers Perry Pang and Mike Sweeny, auditioned 20 actors for the story's roles.

Casting was very successful--our team has been able to make several choices for potentials who we hope to call back.

We are in the process of holding more auditions this weekend--Saturday the 28th and March 1st.
From there, we’ll be having callbacks the following week--March 7th and 8th, after which time we will be able to decide our cast.

In the meantime, we're finalizing locations--

This past Thursday, February 19th, director Tahir Jetter headed to the Bushwick section of Brooklyn, NYC, and after surveying several areas without much success, by chance stumbled upon a location which our team has decided will do well to serve as the primary setting for most of the film's action. The area's abandoned warehouses, desolate ambience, and considerable lack of pedestrian and vehicular traffic make it a choice location both aesthetically and practically for the production.

It was a cold, windy night and somewhat difficult to get long exposures, but some decent stills resulted, some which will give us a good idea of the space in which we'll be working and a good idea of how to proceed with our production strategy from here on in.
